Michael H. Sussman Endorses Stephen Krasner for Town of Newburgh Supervisor

For much of my professional life, I have fought for people who lacked power, lacked a voice, or felt that government and institutions were not working for them. Whether representing civil rights plaintiffs, public employees, residents, or community organizations, I have always believed that government functions best when it is transparent, accountable, and responsive to the people it serves.

That is why I am proud to endorse Stephen Krasner for Town of Newburgh Supervisor.

Stephen cares deeply about his community and approaches public service with integrity, thoughtfulness, and a willingness to listen. He understands that residents deserve a government that welcomes public participation, treats people fairly, and earns trust through its actions rather than its promises.

The Town of Newburgh faces important challenges in the years ahead. Residents want responsible planning, honest government, professional administration, and leadership that places the public interest above politics. Those goals are not achieved through division or favoritism. They are achieved by building confidence in government and ensuring that decisions are made openly and with accountability. 

Stephen has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to civic engagement and public service. He understands that local government should work for everyone, not just those with influence or connections—and that residents deserve to be heard and respected. As the 2025 election showed, a Democrat CAN win in the Town of Newburgh and Stephen has the capacity to appeal to all voters with pragmatic and winning solutions and a strong commitment to work with the entire Town population.

Because I believe Stephen Krasner has the experience, judgment, and commitment necessary to move the Town forward—I enthusiastically support his candidacy for Town Supervisor.
